In the wake of their brand spanking new release Bloodsuckers
on their brand spanking new label, Delicious Deli,
Japan's Vamps hosted a tour run, VampPark Fest, featuring
Sixx A.M., Buck Cherry, and Gerard Way, amongst others,
and culminated the event with a single visit to NYC’s
epic Best Buy Theater.
Not to be confused with the UK boy band The Vamps, and almost
a decade into this incarnation, founders Hyde and K.A.Z.
have grown both as musicians and people, and this is most
evident when they are playing live.
A group of close friends who have enormous respect for their
audience, Vamps owned the stage. Peppering their set with
new material as well as crowd favorites such as “Devil
Side 1” and “Sex Blood Rock & Roll,”
(which, if you don’t think it’s funny to watch
an audience full of innocent-looking anime fans screaming
along with these lyrics, then you’re sorely mistaken,)
this band is a force to be reckoned with. With both infectious
charm and raw talent, Vamps prove that they more than earned
their spot at the MTV Music Awards and Download Festival.
The band will likely be writing into the new year, so keep
your eyes peeled for some new murmurings from them!
