The Skulls live up to the title of their new album as they again take a flying leap by reinventing themselves on this ridiculously uncommercial punk rock album. Mixing snarling guitars with a booming bass line, drums with dynamic sonics, some well-placed horns, and other low-tech noisemakers, Voodoo Glow Skulls create songs that lean toward melody, but with uncharacteristic themes. "Exorcism," "When the World Stops Turning," and "Say Hello to My Friend" show the band's strong songwriting and the humanity of their off-kilter vocal blend that bubbles beneath the noise. - Phil Rainone
